A FAMILY HOME, A STORY TO SHARE

Domaine de la Fontaine is much more than a guesthouse: it's a life story, a family story.

A few years ago, an event profoundly changed our outlook on life and led us to rethink our priorities. With our three children, we began to consider a meaningful project, one that reflected who we are and that would allow us to build something real.

This idea matured over several years.

Then, almost as if it were obvious, an opportunity arose: that of taking over this old family home, a place full of memories where our eldest daughter notably took her first steps.

This house was already part of our history. We chose to give it a new life.

GIVING THE HOUSE A NEW LIFE

This house also gave us the opportunity to step back and deeply rethink our way of life..

We took the time to reflect on what we really wanted to build for our family, our way of life, and the values we wanted to pass on to our children.

Gradually, the idea of giving this house a new lease on life became obvious. The project matured, the plans took shape, and a full year of work was needed to transform this family home into a welcoming and warm place.

We have invested a lot of energy, heart and attention in this renovation, with the desire to preserve the soul of the house while providing it with the necessary comfort today .

Each space has been designed with this same idea in mind: to be able to be together, while allowing everyone to find their own rhythm.

A LIFE PROJECT

This project was born from a deep desire: to rethink our way of life and give more meaning to our daily lives.

Over the years, we have felt the need to slow down, to get closer to what is essential and to offer our family a living environment closer to nature, while building a project that reflects who we are.

When the opportunity to take over this family home arose, it naturally found its place in this reflection.

This place was already part of our history: it was here that our eldest daughter took her first steps, and this house had long been associated with many family memories.

We then chose to give it a new life, without erasing what made up its soul.

The renovation was a true family adventure. We designed each space with the aim of preserving the character of this old farmhouse while providing the necessary comfort to welcome family and friends today.

And very quickly, we understood that this house was meant to be more than just a place to live: it could become a place for sharing.

A PLACE TO GET TOGETHER

This is how Domaine de la Fontaine was born.

Today, we welcome families, friends, cousins and several generations who come to share a few days in the Dombes.

A big lunch around the table, children playing in the park, a swim, a game of pétanque, a walk around the ponds or simply the pleasure of taking one's time…

We envisioned the Domaine as a home where people truly come to reconnect.

A place where you slow down, where you breathe, and where the simplest moments often become the most precious.

AND THEN THERE'S YOU

Today, our greatest joy is seeing this house continue to live on through those who come to stay here.

Your reunions, your family meals, the laughter of children, birthdays, the discussions that linger around the table…

You, in turn, are writing a new page in the history of Domaine de la Fontaine.

And that is probably what gives the most meaning to our adventure.
